Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-DESIGN Geartronic
How many times? The Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-DESIGN Geartronic is 'not' a yacht.
How many times? The Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-DESIGN Geartronic is 'not' a yacht. It is
the manufacturer's top-of-the-range estate car – and has little in common with the Volvo
Ocean Race. Why then – for crying out loud – does a certain person in my life expect to
see a rudder emerging from the vehicle's rear? How many drinks has this plonker had?
Either way, the V70 actually has a spacious boot at its 'stern'. Cargo capacity is 575-litres
increasing to 1,600-litres with the rear seats folded flat. However, this load-lugger is not the
most spacious boat on the water - the Mondeo and Passat Estates both have larger boots.
How many times? The Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-DESIGN Geartronic is 'not' powered by a
sail screwed to its bonnet.
This lifestyle statement has a 3.0-litre six-cylinder 303PS petrol
engine that propels it across the channel – and to 62mph – in a super-quick 6.9 seconds.
Top speed is 155mph. However, unfortunately, this six-speed automatic guzzles gas like
an ocean liner – so it only averages 27.7mpg. The compensation is composed handling,
the four-wheel-drive system, and the luxurious interior. It also wears a posh badge, so it
looks 'appropriate' next to a new yacht. No wonder it costs £38,325. Could I have a boat for
that?
