Mitsubishi's stylish soft-roader is popular in white. Now with Black edition models to expand the range, it's bang on trend, too. Steve Walker takes a look

Ten Second Review
Perhaps it was only a matter of time before Mitsubishi's popular ASX - a crossover 4x4 in the mould of Nissan's popular Qashqai - succumbed to the lure of the dark side with a black-themed special edition to sex-up its appearance and more kit to plump out its spec - following a path well trodden by the likes of Audi, Mazda and Mercedes. Not that there's much wrong with the basic hardware. The 1.8-litre DiD diesel remains particularly appealing and the road-biased chassis promises decent ability on the black-top. In addition to the 1.8-litre oil burner, a 1.6-litre petrol-engine is offered in the ASX Black.
